Cost of college went up for all students at Florida Southern College

Tuition and fees rose 4.5 percent for 2018-19 at Florida Southern College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Florida students paid $36,348 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,574 more than the $34,774 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 718 students received grants or scholarships totaling $16.6 million and 610 students took out student loans totaling more than $4.5 million.

Including all undergraduates (3,154), 2,451 students used grants or scholarships totaling $56 million, and 1,670 students took out $11.5 million in federal student loans.
