City Of Auburndale issued the following announcement on July 20.
Last night was the final City Commission Meeting for Finance Director and City Clerk Shirley Lowrance. Out of the countless meetings that Shirley has overseen over the years, recording our City Commission's Minutes, it may be among one of her most memorable nights.
Former City Manager Bobby Green approached the podium to share some kind words, stories, and congratulations for Shirley's retirement and her record as the longest-serving employee in City of Auburndale's history. She will have served for 46.5 years when she officially retires at the end of the month!
Representatives from the Florida Association of City Clerks (FACC) were in attendance alongside city clerks from other regional municipalities to congratulate Shirley. They presented her with a signed resolution from the FACC, which “offers its sincere appreciation and extends best wishes on behalf of all of its members to Shirley A. Lowrance in recognition of her retirement after many years of dedicated service and professionalism in representing the office of the Finance Director/City Clerk of the City of Auburndale.”
Lastly, the City Commission presented Shirley Lowrance with a gift to honor her dedication, service, and time that she has given to the City to make it a better place for everyone to live, work, and play. Thank you, Shirley!
