City Of Auburndale issued the following announcement on Oct. 05.
It is Fire Prevention Week! Last night at the City Commission Meeting, Mayor Tim Pospichal issued a proclamation alongside Fire Chief Brian Bradway to mark October 3-9 as Fire Prevention Week.
This year’s FPW campaign, “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety!” works to educate everyone about the different sounds the smoke and carbon monoxide alarms make. Knowing what to do when an alarm sounds will keep you and your family safe. When an alarm makes noises – a beeping sound or a chirping sound – you must take action.
This year’s Fire Prevention Week will be similar to last year’s program. Our firefighters have been working with classrooms to help create lesson plans and distribute educational materials focused on the topic of fire safety.
