City Of Auburndale issued the following announcement on Dec. 06.
Tonight’s City Commission Meeting was the first meeting for the month of December. Each year, this meeting in particular features the installment of elected commissioners, the recognition of outgoing commissioners, and the election and installment of our Mayor and Vice Mayor for the upcoming year.
Commissioners Dorothea Taylor Bogert and Keith Cowie were sworn in by City Clerk Jeff Brown to begin their second consecutive terms on the City Commission. Dr. Bill Sterling was also sworn in, returning as Commissioner for Seat 3. Mayor Tim Pospichal has completed his second four (4) year term as a commissioner and was recognized for his dedication and service to the City as he steps down from the position.
During tonight’s mayoral election, the Auburndale City Commission elected Dr. Dorothea Taylor Bogert to serve as the Mayor, and Keith Cowie was elected to serve as the Vice Mayor for 2022. Dr. Dorothea Taylor Bogert is the first female to serve as Mayor in the City of Auburndale’s history.
