What are household hazardous wastes?
Household hazardous wastes (HHW) are products that contain ingredients that are flammable, corrosive, combustible, toxic and/or reactive.
Chemicals
The list below provides examples of accepted chemicals, call for specific substances.
Automotive fluids, motor oil
Batteries (household or auto)
Cleaners
Cooking oil
Fertilizers
Fluorescent bulbs and other mercury containing devices
Fuels (Kerosene, gasoline)
Fungicides
Herbicides
Insecticides
Paint (latex, oil)
Paint thinner
Paint remover
Pesticides
Pool chemicals
Propane tanks
Solvents
Wood preservatives
Electronics
Limit up to five per household
TVs, VCRs, CD, DVD or Blu-ray players
Digital camera, video cameras (camcorders)
Cell phones, smart phones, MP3 players, iPods
Computers and/or peripherals
Fax machines
Printers, copiers, printer or toner cartridges
GPS, marine depth finders
Radios, stereo equipment
Telephones
Video game players
Tires
Limit up to 24 per vehicle
No off-road, tractor, floater/floating semi tires or tracks will be accepted
Tires from businesses, independent or commercial trucking companies or automotive business will not be accepted.
