City Of Haines recently issued the following announcement.
REMINDER: STORMWATER WORK CLOSES
PART OF VALENCIA AVE. UNTIL FRIDAY
Parts of Valencia Avenue in Haines City will be closed as stormwater pipe replacement is underway. This will be a full road closure between Tangerine Circle and 12th Street. There will be detours to help motorists reach their destinations and all residents will have access to their homes during construction by following detour signs. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, weather permitting. The area was first reported as a possible sinkhole but after investigation, the issue was identified as a compromised stormwater pipe. The pipe is 12 feet underground, necessitating road closure during the repair process. Motorists are encouraged to add extra time to their daily commute and follow the detour signs.
