Fire Blaze by the Falcons 94-65

The No. 17 Southeastern University men's basketball team blazed by the Fisher College Falcons in the the first game of the Florida College Classic, 94-65.

Southeastern came out of the gate hot making two jumpers followed by a Riley Matticks three pointer to put them up 7-0. The Fire remained in control the entire first half by never rescinding the lead and led by as much as ten points with five minutes remaining in the first half.

At the half, Riley Minix had a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds, shooting 61% from the field. Southeastern led 39-31 going into the half.

In the second half, the Fire got in rhythm and outscored the Falcons 55-34. Southeastern increased their eight point lead at the half to 20 after only eight minutes of play. As time went on, Southeastern led by as many as 33 and with time running out, the Fire lead was too much to overcome for the Falcons.

As a team, Southeastern shot 45.2% from the field, 26.9% from three-point land, and 61.1% from the free throw line.

Riley Minix had a game-high 41 points and 22 rebounds on 65% shooting from the field. His 41 points ties his career high.

Joshua Blasquez led the team in assists with six and added 10 points. Sean Shore recorded a double-double with 14 rebounds and 10 points. Reggie Mesidor was the team's second leading scorer with 12 points and added three steals and three assists.

The Fire return to action at the Florida College Classic tomorrow (10/28) at 5:30 p.m. Eastern.
