CITY OF AUBURNDALE: With Spring on the way (more or less already here), landscaping and yard maintenance may be finding a place on your to-do list.

City Of Auburndale issued the following announcement on Mar. 15.

With Spring on the way (more or less already here), landscaping and yard maintenance may be finding a place on your to-do list. We encourage our residents to utilize the resources and helpful information provided by the UF/IFAS Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program. (link: https://ffl.ifas.ufl.edu/ )

Find and install plants that need less water and maintenance to thrive! Learn about plant species that are native or friendly to our local environment and avoid invasive species. Water efficiently to save on your utility bill! Fertilize appropriately to help protect our lakes and water sources from nutrient runoff.

There is a lot of helpful information provided by the Florida-Friendly Program including their excellent FFL Plant Guide database. You can search this interactive, visual database to generate new ideas and discover your next leafy addition to the yard. Check it out here: https://ffl.ifas.ufl.edu/plants/
