Congressman Scott Franklin, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida's 18th district since 2021, recently shared a series of tweets covering various topics related to veterans and military service. Franklin, born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964 and currently residing in Lakeland, is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.

On November 8, 2024, Franklin expressed his aspirations for Vet Fest to become an annual event that serves as a "one-stop shop" for veterans seeking services. He encouraged followers to watch a video by Polk County highlighting the second annual Vet Fest. "We’re hoping to grow Vet Fest into a yearly 'one-stop shop' that connects vets with all kinds of services that are often challenging to seek out on their own."

In another tweet dated November 10, 2024, Franklin celebrated the birthday of the United States Marine Corps with a brief message: "Happy 249th Birthday, @USMC - Semper Fi!"

On Veterans Day, November 11, 2024, Franklin paid tribute to military veterans and reflected on his own service experience.
