Scott Franklin discusses tribal security and legislative efforts

Congressman Scott Franklin, representing Florida's 18th district since 2021, has been actively engaging with constituents and legislative matters as reflected in his recent tweets. Franklin, who succeeded Ross Spano and has a background in both the U.S. Congress and the Florida House of Representatives, shared updates on meetings and legislative actions through his social media.

On December 6, 2024, Congressman Franklin tweeted about a meeting with the Seminole Tribe of Florida. He stated, "Great meeting this week with the Seminole Tribe of Florida to discuss ongoing efforts to ensure tribal land security and revitalize economic programs."

Later that day, Franklin expressed support for a legislative initiative aimed at increasing government efficiency. In his tweet he mentioned his role as a cosponsor of H.R. 10300, a bill by Representative Stephanie Bice intended to implement the Supreme Court's decision overturning the Chevron doctrine. He wrote, "As @HouseGOP, @DOGE & @realDonaldTrump gear up to make government more efficient, I’m pleased to cosponsor H.R. 10300, @RepBice’s bill ensuring the Supreme Court’s overturning of the Chevron doctrine is implemented. Federal agencies have exceeded their constitutional authority…"

On December 7, 2024, Congressman Franklin commemorated Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day by honoring those who lost their lives during the attack. His message was one of remembrance and gratitude for their sacrifice: "On Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we remember the 2,390 American service members and civilians who tragically lost their lives in the infamous attack. May we never forget the brave men and women who gave the last full measure of devotion to protect our nation."
