Congressman Scott Franklin, who represents Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently highlighted local agricultural initiatives and welcomed constituents to Washington, D.C., according to a series of posts on his official Twitter account.

On September 8, Franklin praised efforts by a state agricultural group: "Pleased to hear @FLCitrusMutual outline a comprehensive program for ag producers across multiple counties. FL-18 is the largest agricultural district east of the Mississippi and our farmers work every day to help keep America fed. "

The following day, Franklin posted about connecting with visitors from his district during congressional business: "Even during marathon Appropriations markups, I love meeting with folks from back home. Grateful to welcome Floridians from FL-18 with the National Day of Prayer Task Force to DC today!" (September 9).

On September 10, he shared an update on educational engagement in the nation’s capital: "It was a pleasure to welcome students from FL-18 to DC with the Randy Roberts Foundation! Through scholarships and programs like Congressional Classroom, they’re investing in our next generation of leaders. "

Franklin has represented Florida’s 18th District since 2021 after succeeding Ross Spano. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives and resides in Lakeland. Born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964, Franklin graduated from the United States Naval Academy and later earned another degree from Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.
