Congressman Scott Franklin, who represents Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on September 10, 2025, addressing both community engagement and national events.

In his first tweet at 16:07 UTC, Franklin wrote, "Great to meet with @AveloAir yesterday in DC to connect and strengthen our partnership as they continue serving our community. As a career Naval Aviator and commercially rated pilot, I always enjoy time with leaders in the aviation industry! https://t.co/R4AA6xZxGs".

Later that day at 20:09 UTC, he commented on an ongoing situation involving Charlie Kirk: "We pray for Charlie Kirk, his wife and their family as we await updates on his condition."

By 23:05 UTC, Franklin addressed news of Kirk’s death with a statement condemning political violence: "The assassination of Charlie Kirk is a tragic example of the rising acceptance of political violence in our nation. His death should serve as a clarion call for all Americans to reject hatred and denounce any celebration of death for political gain.

Scott Franklin has served as U.S. Congressman for Florida's 18th District since 2021 after succeeding Ross Spano. Before joining Congress, he served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964, Franklin resides in Lakeland. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1986 and later earned another degree from Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University in 1994.
