Scott Franklin reflects on September 11 and highlights recent congressional actions

Congressman Scott Franklin, who represents Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on September 11, 2025, reflecting on national remembrance and legislative activity.

On the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Franklin wrote: "On September 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 lives were taken in an act of terror. America’s spirit stood strong then and remains unbroken today. We will never forget the victims, the heroes and the families who carry their memory. " (posted at 12:30 UTC).

Later that day, Franklin reported progress on weather forecasting legislation: "Yesterday, @housescience advanced the Weather Act Reauthorization Act through committee. This bill is a bipartisan step to modernize America’s forecasting systems to deliver faster, more reliable warnings." (posted at 14:48 UTC).

In his final update for the day regarding defense policy legislation, Franklin stated: "The House passed the FY26 NDAA to keep America strong, support our allies & deliver for the men and women who serve. My statement https://t.co/D6QuiIqZLd" (posted at 16:39 UTC).

Scott Franklin has represented Florida's 18th district in Congress since replacing Ross Spano in 2021 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964 and now residing in Lakeland, Franklin graduated from the United States Naval Academy and later from Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.
