Congressman Scott Franklin, who represents Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on recent activities and community engagements through a series of posts on September 12, 2025.

In his first post of the day, Franklin highlighted a commemorative event at a local school: "Today, Summerlin Academy in Bartow held its annual 9/11 Ceremony to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001 and pay tribute to the bravery of our first responders. We will never forget. " (September 12, 2025).

Later that afternoon, Franklin commented on ongoing legislative work within Congress: "Late nights and long hours are part of the job, but I’m grateful for the hard work of Members and staff as we completed the last two full committee @HouseAppropsGOP markups. Each step keeps us moving forward to responsibly fund the government and serve the American people. " (September 12, 2025).

In an evening post, Franklin reflected on advocacy efforts related to medical research: "It was an honor to meet with constituents alongside the Michael J. Fox Foundation as they advocate for Parkinson’s research. I’m grateful for their commitment to advancing care and working toward a cure." (September 12, 2025).

Scott Franklin has represented Florida's 18th district since replacing Ross Spano in Congress in 2021. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964 and currently residing in Lakeland, Franklin is also an alumnus of both the United States Naval Academy and Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.
