Congressman Scott Franklin, who represents Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on his official social media account about honoring public figures, meeting with educational leaders, and reflecting on the U.S. Constitution.

On September 16, 2025, Franklin posted about a gathering at the Capitol to honor Charlie Kirk. He wrote: "Tonight I gathered with my colleagues in the Capitol to honor Charlie Kirk. We prayed for his family and loved ones, and for a nation that rejects political violence and chooses civility."

Later that day, Franklin highlighted his engagement with local education officials: "Enjoyed meeting with the Florida School Board Association and Polk School Board Chairman Dr. William Allen last week. Their work is essential to supporting Florida’s students and schools." This meeting underscored his ongoing involvement with issues affecting students and schools in Florida.

On September 17, 2025, Franklin marked Constitution Day by referencing the founding document of the United States: "On this day in 1787, our Founding Fathers established the Constitution, the cornerstone of our Republic. Its principles continue to protect liberty and guide our nation."

Franklin has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after replacing Ross Spano. He previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964, Franklin currently resides in Lakeland at age 58. His educational background includes degrees from both the United States Naval Academy (1986) and Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University (1994).
