Congressman Scott Franklin, who represents Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared a series of posts on his official Twitter account reflecting on meetings with notable individuals and commemorating national milestones.

On September 17, 2025, Franklin posted about reconnecting with a fellow flight school graduate and astronaut: "So cool to catch up with my buddy from flight school, astronaut Butch Wilmore, along with the rest of @NASA’s Expedition 72 Crew - Suni Williams, Don Pettit & Nick Hague. Fascinating to hear about Butch & Suni’s unexpected 9 month voyage! "

The following day, he acknowledged the anniversary of the U.S. Air Force: "For 78 years, the @usairforce has delivered airpower and innovation to keep America safe. Thank you to every Airman who serves our nation. " This message was posted on September 18, 2025.

Also on September 18, Franklin highlighted a local event held by Young Americans for Freedom in Sebring: "The Young Americans for Freedom chapter in Sebring honored the nearly 3,000 lives lost on 9/11 and also took a moment to pray for Charlie Kirk’s family during this time of grief. "

Scott Franklin has served as a member of Congress since defeating Ross Spano in the 2020 election and taking office in January 2021. Before his tenure in Washington D.C., he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964 and currently residing in Lakeland, Franklin graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1986 before earning an additional degree from Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University eight years later.
