Scott Franklin highlights community policing and government funding actions

Congressman Scott Franklin, who represents Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on community events and legislative developments through a series of posts on October 10, 2025.

In one post from that day, Franklin expressed appreciation for local law enforcement, stating: "Grateful to Sheriff Potter and the @dcsoflsheriff’s office for bringing the community together for National Night Out. Our public safety professionals are the backbone of strong, safe communities. https://t.co/d6StjzQepy" (October 10, 2025).

Later that evening, Franklin addressed ongoing government funding discussions in Congress: "The House passed a responsible plan to keep the government open. The Senate has failed to act.

Franklin also highlighted a meeting with healthcare leaders at Lakeland Regional Health’s Harrell Family Center for Behavioral Wellness. He wrote: "Met with President & CEO of Lakeland Regional Health, Danielle Drummond, and the Vice President of Behavioral Health Services, Alice Nuttell, at the Harrell Family Center for Behavioral Wellness. LRH is trendsetting in behavioral health with expertise in emerging treatments and https://t.co/mIPtGbflcH" (October 10, 2025).

Scott Franklin has served as U.S. Representative for Florida’s 18th District since replacing Ross Spano in 2021. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964 and currently residing in Lakeland, Franklin is an alumnus of both the United States Naval Academy and Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.
