Congressman Scott Franklin, who represents Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to acknowledge key American institutions and commemorate national observances.
On October 12, 2025, Franklin posted about National Farmers Day, stating: "Hard work, long hours and dedication define our nation’s farmers. On National Farmers Day, we thank them for feeding our families, fueling our economy and sustaining our future. https://t.co/ymfpYc3zfP"
The following day, October 13, 2025, Franklin marked the U.S. Navy's anniversary with a post referencing his own military background: "For 250 years, the U.S. Navy has defended freedom across the world. As a proud Naval Aviator of 26 years, I salute the Sailors who continue to stand the watch for our nation. ️ https://t.co/xU70tbuGCz"
Later that same day, he commented on Columbus Day: "Columbus Day marks the spirit of exploration and discovery that continues to shape America’s story. https://t.co/LNKn7WhgXs"
Franklin has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Ross Spano and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives. He was born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964 and resides in Lakeland. Franklin is an alumnus of the United States Naval Academy and Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.
