Congressman Scott Franklin highlights local initiatives and community organizations in recent posts

Congressman Scott Franklin, who represents Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted local achievements and community milestones in a series of posts on social media.

On October 17, 2025, Franklin announced the opening of a new emergency facility in Hardee County, stating, "Hardee County’s new Emergency Operations Center is officially open! Replacing the facility lost to Hurricane Ian, this project will strengthen local emergency response and better protect families across the region."

Three days later, on October 20, 2025, Franklin acknowledged the longstanding role of a local business organization, writing, "For more than a century, the Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce has supported local businesses. Their work helps preserve Sebring’s small-town character and advance economic opportunity for future generations."

Later that same day, Franklin recognized the Polk County Farm Bureau’s contributions to Florida agriculture. He wrote, "For more than 80 years, the Polk County Farm Bureau has been a trusted voice for Florida’s farmers and ranchers. Recently, at their annual meeting and membership celebration, we heard updates on local projects like the Ag Center and Ag Heritage Project. Their work continues to"

Scott Franklin has served in Congress since 2021 after previously serving in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964, Franklin is currently 58 years old and resides in Lakeland. He is an alumnus of both the United States Naval Academy and Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.
