Graduates earn 730 degrees from Florida Southern College

About 22.6 percent of the 730 degrees and certificates handed out by Florida Southern College in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Lakeland conferred 91 bachelor's degrees and 74 master's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general business administration and management. Data shows the school gave out 96 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management, followed by 72 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse and 47 bachelor's degrees in general psychology.

The college enrolled 3,154 students for 2017-18, including 2,723 in undergraduate programs and 431 in graduate programs.
