Scholarship Opportunity
The ECU Department of Engineering and the Associate of
Science in Engineering Program at Lenoir Community
College has received a $4 million grant from the National
Science Foundation to create a scholarship program for
two cohorts of students studying engineering beginning in
Fall 2020 and Fall 2021.
Scholarships up to $10,000/year ($40k total), based
on financial eligibility as determined by FAFSA
application

How to Apply via Lenoir CC
Step 1: Apply as a student at LCC (www.lenoircc.edu)
Step 2: Apply for the PIRATES scholarship on the LCC
homepage through the ECU award. Note that you must
name two references who will write letters of
recommendation on your behalf. One must be a STEM
teacher and the second can be anyone of your choosing.
Step 3: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA) https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
Step 4: Register for classes with Mr. Grant Hargett at LCC
