City Of Lakeland issued the following announcement on Mar. 03.
Meet Amy, our Airport Facilities Coordinator.
How long have you been with the City of Lakeland: Three years and four months.
Provide a brief job description: As an Airport Facilities Coordinator, it is my job to assist with property upgrades and construction for over 2 million square feet of facilities, coordination with tenants and contractors and the coordination of landside special events. Some of my additional duties include tenant billing and insurance compliance.
One thing you love about your job: Without a doubt, the people. In my mind, the team that I work with is truly the best of the best. As a team, we work together daily with the same vision and the same mission in mind. We all have our individual strengths and when we come together, no task is impossible.
If you could be anywhere right now, where would it be: On a cruise ship to any tropical destination.
What advice would you give your younger self: Embrace constructive criticism. Use it to grow both personally and professionally.
What was your first job: Movie theatre attendant at the Plant City Movie Theatre.
If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be: Boneless chicken wings.
Favorite hobby: Visiting new places. Whether it is a new restaurant or a new town. Life is too short to live in a box.
Fun fact about YOU: I thoroughly enjoy writing. When I was younger, I looked forward to writing assignments and entered essay competitions for enjoyment. I was even the editor of our school newspaper.
Early bird or night owl: Early bird. I have an adorable “alarm clock” who wears footie pajamas and loves to wake me up every morning with cute baby babbling, usually before dawn.
Extras: I was born and raised in Plant City, FL and didn’t move to Lakeland until four years ago. I am happily married with two daughters, ages thirteen and seven months.
