NOTICE OF ELECTION
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with Section 100.021, Florida Statutes, the City of Bartow will hold a Regular Election on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, between the hours of 7 AM and 7 PM, for the election of TWO City Commissioners for three-year terms.
SEAT 4 – AT-LARGE DISTRICT, currently held by Trish Pfeiffer
SEAT 5 – EAST DISTRICT, currently held by Leo E. Longworth
The qualifying period begins at 9:00 AM on Monday, February 3, 2020 and ends on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 5:00 PM.
To become a candidate, you must be a registered voter in Polk County, a qualified elector in the City of Bartow residing in the corporate limits of the City continuously for eighteen months immediately preceding the date of commencement of the term of office and hold no other public office. Additionally, candidates seeking to qualify for SEAT NO. 5 (East District), must reside within that district.
The office is for the term of three years and will commence May 2020. The salary for Commissioner is $967.66 per month. The filing fee for Commission Member is $116.12 (1% of annual salary).
