Franklin has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after replacing Ross Spano and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964, he currently resides in Lakeland. He is a graduate of both the United States Naval Academy and Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.
