College1

Florida Southern recently issued the following announcement on Oct. 13

Dr. Anne B. Kerr, president of Florida Southern College, has been included as one of the state’s most impactful educational leaders in Florida Trend magazine’s Florida 500: Florida’s Most Influential Business Leaders.

The editorial selection of Florida’s 500 most inspirational and influential executives — spanning more than 60 business categories — was based on extensive research, consultation, and hundreds of interviews. This third annual edition of the magazine's prestigious publication is a "highly selective biographical guide to the people who really run Florida."

Dr. Kerr, who has been Florida Southern's president since 2004, receives accolades for leading FSC to national acclaim with a dedicated commitment to providing a transformational education to students through a synthesis of liberal arts and professional programs. The College focuses on developing students academically, socially, and spiritually.

"By valuing them as individual learners, Florida Southern College prepares students to make positive and consequential impacts on society," Dr. Kerr says.

Prior to her leadership role at Florida Southern, Dr. Kerr worked as an analyst at the State of Florida Board of Regents, as assistant dean of the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College, and as vice president of advancement and marketing at two private institutions.

David Denor, publisher of the Florida 500 guide, praised the civic efforts of Dr. Kerr and the other Floridians who are featured, highlighting “their hard work, focus, dedication, sacrifice and desire for making Florida a better place to live and work. … We are fortunate to have some of the greatest innovators in all sectors of our state’s economy — from education to manufacturing, health care and technology, among others.”
