Mayor Eugene Fultz and Jennifer D'hollander of the Lake Wales History Museum present Gladys Howell, 95, with the Pioneer of the Year award.
She was a teacher for many years. She planned the 1st Kindergarten ceremony at @polkavenue Polk Avenue Elementary. She was a fundraiser for many educational activities.
She has been active in her church and many organizations Including the Lake Wales Care Center
She had 4 children and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren
