City Of Haines recently issued the following announcement.
On the final Friday of October, the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) will be partnering with AdventHealth Heart of Florida for “Paint it Pink” to recognize those affected by cancer.
Paint it Pink is a countywide program and will be coming to Art Alley in historic downtown Haines City for the second time. The Oct. 29 event lasts from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and also marks the return of the CRA’s monthly “Finally Friday” celebration after a brief hiatus.
One of the event’s highlights includes a family sidewalk chalk competition with an emphasis on cancer awareness. Families affected by cancer will have the opportunity to design their own pink sidewalk square. There will be five gift baskets, donated by local businesses, to be given away as prizes. Installed art at Art Alley will be entirely pink and serve as the event’s backdrop.
Throughout the course of the event, five professional artists will be painting portraits that reflect the theme. They will be auctioned off a later date. All proceeds will support the AdventHealth Foundation, which funds breast cancer-related research and services.
Another one of the event’s major sponsors, Mahalak Auto Group, will present the luminary portion of the event scheduled for 7 p.m. B. Haven will provide the entertainment. Food trucks will also be open for the event.
For more information, to RSVP or to register for the event, contact the CRA at 863-421-5577 or crainfo@hainescity.com.
