CITY OF LAKE ALFRED: Lake Alfred Heritage Festival

City Of Lake Alfred recently issued the following announcement.

Promptly at 10 AM the Lake Alfred Heritage Festival will begin with a !!BLAST!! from an authentic replica of a M1841 U.S. Army "Mountain Howitzer" Artillery Cannon provided by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and the Buffalo Soldiers Florida, Inc, who have joined our Civil War Exhibition this year.  Don't miss presentations by President Abraham Lincoln and General Edwin McCook (below).

 THE FIRST (100) PEOPLE TO ARRIVE WILL RECEIVE A COMPLIMENTARY SHOPPING BAG to "Take a Little History Home" . . "The Olde' Market Place" will feature quilting, wood working, education and history exhibits, along with unique indoor and outdoor home and garden decor', jewelry, and products by talented craftsmen and vendors.

"Lake Alfred Junction" (presented by the Florida Frontiersmen) is returning with another authentic display of Pioneer, Cowboy, and Indian Civilizations from the 1800's.

 LIVE MUSIC . . . . . Relax . . . . . Enjoy!!

"The Grateful Alive" 10 AM-12 PM   "Josh Blevins Band" 12:30-3:30 PM

 You'll find History of Lake Alfred inside and outside of our Historical Museum, including Guided Bus Tours of Historic Sites . . STOP . . Play a round of "Vintage Horseshoes" or SNAP some memories in the "Photo Op Forest" . . ENJOY some fantastic BBQ w/Fixin's, Specialty Sodas, Kettle Korn . . More 

 So much to see . . So much to do 

* BUS TOURS (Register at Museum) 11 AM -- 1 PM -- 3 PM

* President Lincoln (Gettysburg Address) 11:30 AM

* East Polk County Plein Air Artists (Show & Tell Morning Sketches) 12:30-1PM

* P.T. Mortimer (1800's Magician/Medicine Man) Shows at: 11 AM and 1:30 PM

* General Edwin McCook (Emancipation Proclamation) 2:30 PM

* Whip Cracking Exhibition by Alan Rayl and Sons will wrap it up at 4 PM

* FINAL Civil War Cannon !!BLAST!! at 5 PM

The 3rd Annual Lake Alfred Heritage Festival is presented by the City of Lake Alfred, the Lake Alfred Historical Society, Inc. and supported by Sponsors: TECO, SouthState Bank, Citrus Connection, State Farm Insurance, Florida Caribbean Distillers, Ron's Tackle Box, Dunkin' Donuts and many volunteers
