City Of Winter Haven issued the following announcement on Jan. 31.
By way of proclamation, the City of Winter Haven celebrates the week of January 31, 2022 as “Lemuel Geathers Week”. Mr. Geathers was Winter Haven’s first black Commissioner and Mayor, was instrumental in the formation of Polk State College, and so much more in the Winter Haven community.
