Royal Swan Descendants Celebrate Sapphire Jubilee!
Today, February 8th, the royal descendants of the swans gifted to the City of Lakeland by Queen Elizabeth II celebrated their 65th Anniversary on Lake Morton. The ceremony included a vet approved cake presented to the swans by Mayor Mutz himself!
Since the swans' arrival to Lake Morton in 1957, they have become iconic figures in the community and even the City's logo is fashioned after the birds.
