City Of Haines issued the following announcement on Oct. 01.
POLK RESIDENTS ELIGIBLE FOR FEMA ASSISTANCE
ATLANTA – Orange, Osceola, Polk and Seminole counties are now eligible for FEMA assistance after Hurricane Ian.
Individuals and households in Orange, Osceola, Polk and Seminole Counties can apply for Individual Assistance from FEMA, which may include temporary housing assistance, basic home repairs, and other home-related needs stress uninsured.
These counties join Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Hardee, Hillsborough, Lee, Manatee, Pinellas and Sarasota counties that were previously approved for Individual Assistance.
Survivors can apply for disaster assistance at www.disasterassistance.gov by calling 800-621-3362 from 7a. m. at 11 p.m. m. Eastern time, or using FEMA mobile app. If you use a streaming service, such as the video streaming service (VRS), the subtitle phone service, or others, provide FEMA with the number for that service.
