City Of Haines issued the following announcement on Oct. 28.
The Haines City Fire Department is participating in National Fire Prevention Week, visiting area schools and talking to students about fire safety and prevention. These students at Alta Vista Elementary learned about E.D.I.T.H (Exit Drills In The Home), the importance of smoke detectors, and general fire safety. The students were also treated to a gear demonstration so students could see a firefighter with all their gear.
