City Of Haines issued the following announcement on Mar. 14.
City Manager Jim Elensky was the guest speaker for today’s Inner Wheel Club luncheon. Elensky discussed a variety of topics including how much the city has grown since 2016 and plans to build an Emergency Operation Center thanks to a grant secured by Congressman Darren Soto. Elensky touched on the Police Department’s body cam program and its positive impact.
City Commissioner Roy Tyler also addressed the crowd and discussed how he is satisfied with the quality of the city’s leadership. Finance Director Omar DeJesus presented on the modernization of utility billing and the future purchase of two fire trucks thanks to grants.
