WASHINGTON, DC—In recognition of his unwavering commitment to balancing the federal budget and reducing the size of government, Rep. Scott Franklin (FL-18) has been honored with the 2022 Club for Growth Defender of Economic Freedom Award.

"Congress’ insatiable appetite to spend money has run up a $33 trillion national debt and put us on a collision course with bankruptcy. Americans are expecting Congress to have the courage to right the ship before it’s too late," said Rep. Franklin. "I’m pleased to receive the Defender of Economic Freedom Award from the Club for Growth and will always fight to balance the federal budget and shrink government."

The prestigious award, presented by the largest free-market advocacy organization in the United States, recognizes representatives and senators who have consistently voted in favor of limited government and policies that promote prosperity. To qualify for the award, recipients must score 90% or higher on votes cast in a particular year and maintain a lifetime rating of at least 90%.
