Scott Franklin takes vice chair role in agriculture subcommittee

Congressman Scott Franklin from Florida's 18th District has been appointed as Vice Chairman of the Agriculture Subcommittee within the Appropriations Committee for the 119th Congress. He will also serve on the Energy and Water Development Subcommittee, while continuing his role on the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee.

Franklin expressed his commitment to fiscal responsibility, stating, "It’s an honor to return to the House Appropriations Committee to allocate critical resources, rein in wasteful spending and restore fiscal sanity." He emphasized his dedication to supporting American farmers and producers, adding, "As the new Vice Chair of the Agriculture Subcommittee, I’m proud to continue supporting our nation’s hardworking farmers, ranchers, growers and producers who keep the world fed and provide millions of jobs for Americans."

In his new role with the Energy and Water Development Subcommittee, Franklin aims to focus on energy independence and essential water projects. "This Congress, I’m excited to join the Energy and Water Development Subcommittee to craft budgets that prioritize our energy independence and fund critical water projects that fuel our economy and protect our environment," he said.

Franklin remains committed to national defense and veteran affairs through his continued service on the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee. He stated, "As a tireless fighter for our national defense and military veterans, I’m eager to continuing serving on the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee to bolster national security projects that strengthen U.S. global leadership and enhance programs that improve servicemember and veteran quality of life."
