Congressman Scott Franklin, representing Florida's 18th district, shared a series of tweets on February 11 and 12, 2025. His posts touched upon themes of remembrance, historical leadership, and legislative efforts.

On February 11, Franklin commemorated the return of U.S. Army Air Force Pfc. Robert Colter Jr., who is finally being laid to rest in Lakeland after more than eight decades. He emphasized the importance of honoring the sacrifices made by military personnel: "After over 80 years, U.S. Army Air Force Pfc. Robert Colter Jr. is finally returning home to Lakeland for a proper burial. This is long-awaited and long overdue. May we never take for granted the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes."

On February 12, Congressman Franklin marked the birthday of Abraham Lincoln, celebrating his role as America's first Republican president and his contributions to preserving the Union and ending slavery: "Happy Birthday to America’s first Republican president, Abraham Lincoln, whose leadership preserved our Union and ended slavery. His reshaping of America laid the groundwork for liberty and freedom for all."

Later that day, Franklin announced the reintroduction of his bill aimed at protecting Big Cypress National Preserve from future wilderness designations while supporting traditional land management practices by local communities: (1/2) I reintroduced my bill, the Big Cypress National Preserve Protection Act, to block future wilderness designations. This bill ensures the Miccosukee Tribe & FL Gladesmen can continue managing the land they’ve protected for generations."
