Scott Franklin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida's 18th district, shared several updates via social media on February 19, 2025. Franklin has been serving in Congress since replacing Ross Spano in 2021 and has a background that includes service in the Florida House of Representatives and education from the United States Naval Academy and Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.

In one post dated February 19, 2025, Franklin announced an upcoming event: "3 days until Academy Day! My office is hosting Service Academy Day on February 22nd at Polk State College’s Center for Public Safety Auditorium from 9:00AM to 12:00 PM for interested 8th-11th grade students. We hope to see you there!" The event aims to engage young students with opportunities related to service academies.

On the same day, he expressed his admiration for young agricultural leaders during National FFA Week. In his words: "Happy #FFAWeek! I'm always impressed by our nation’s young leaders who are shaping the future of American agriculture. Your hard work and dedication keep rural communities strong!"

One of the fiercest and bloodiest fights in the Pacific theater during WWII, it was the only major engagement after Pearl Harbor where US casualties - nearly 29,000 - greatly exceeded those of the Imperial Japanese Army." This reflection highlights an important moment in military history.
