Congressman Scott Franklin, representing Florida’s 18th District, shared a series of tweets recently offering his perspectives on trade policies, fiscal management, and educational initiatives. Scott Franklin, born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964, serves in the U.S. Congress since 2021 after replacing Ross Spano and has an extensive educational background, graduating from the United States Naval Academy and Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.

On March 31, 2025, Congressman Franklin discussed his viewpoint on government tariffs and federal cuts, asserting that they represent fairness and fiscal responsibility respectively. He stated, ".@POTUS’s tariffs = Fair trade, NOT trade wars. Federal cuts = Slashing fraud and waste, NOT jobs. We’re draining the swamp & leveling the playing field—no more business as usual! My interview on @NewsNation's Morning in America Weekend Edition https://t.co/24bTLjajiQ".

On April 1, 2025, Franklin met with education leaders in his community, affirming the importance of educational opportunities and workforce development. He tweeted about this engagement, saying, "Always a pleasure meeting with @PolkState President Dr. Falconetti and trustees! They are providing critical opportunities to expand education and workforce development in our community. https://t.co/Og5JlGhoCn".

On April 3, 2025, Franklin expressed his support for policies aimed at balancing international trade agreements that he perceives have disadvantaged American interests historically. He commented, "For years the US handcuffed itself and played nice while other countries imposed massive tariffs and took advantage of us. We’re done putting America last. @POTUS is leveling the playing field, ending trade imbalances and prioritizing American workers and manufacturing again! https://t.co/UZqV7eKMzk".
