Congressman Scott Franklin, who has represented Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress since 2021 after replacing Ross Spano, recently addressed constituents through a series of posts on social media. Franklin, a former member of the Florida House of Representatives and graduate of the United States Naval Academy and Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University, used his platform to highlight constituent services, reflect on national events, and outline legislative priorities.
On July 11, 2025, Franklin offered assistance to constituents interested in visiting key landmarks in Washington D.C., stating "My office can help you book tours of the Capitol, White House and more. Experience our nation's history up close and let us handle the details."
In a post dated July 13, 2025, Franklin marked the anniversary of an assassination attempt on former President Trump. He wrote "One year ago today, Pres. Trump survived a horrific assassination attempt that claimed the life of Corey Comperatore and wounded two others. Sadly, political violence continues to escalate. These attacks on public officials reflect a dangerous erosion of civil discourse. We must".
On July 14, 2025, Franklin described current legislative efforts by House Republicans: "House Republicans are united behind a clear mission: Grow our economy Secure the border Defend American values We’ve now codified 28 of @POTUS’S executive actions into law and we’re just getting started."
Scott Franklin was born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964 and currently resides in Lakeland. He has served as U.S. Representative for Florida’s 18th District since 2021.
