Congressman Scott Franklin, who represents Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. House of Representatives, has recently shared updates and reflections on legislative actions, weather preparedness, and the legacy of space exploration through a series of social media posts.

Later that day, he addressed concerns about changes to weather forecasting resources: "Floridians know how fast a storm can turn deadly. With DoD ending key satellite data next year, I pushed for answers on how we’ll close the gap. As weather events become more intense, we must ensure our forecasting tools keep pace." Franklin has represented Florida’s 18th district since replacing Ross Spano in 2021. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives and is a graduate of both the United States Naval Academy and Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University. Born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964, Franklin resides in Lakeland.
