Congressman Scott Franklin, who represents Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, has used his social media accounts to highlight recent legislative actions and disaster relief efforts relevant to his constituents.
On July 21, 2025, Franklin posted about federal assistance for Florida farmers impacted by consecutive hurricanes. He wrote, "FL farmers have faced unprecedented losses from back-to-back hurricanes. I’m grateful to @SecRollins and @POTUS for delivering this much-needed relief!
I led the Block Grant Assistance Act to cut red tape and speed up USDA disaster aid, ensuring Florida growers receive https://t.co/wuzOXXZPbb".
Later that day, Franklin addressed infrastructure funding with another post: "Last week, @HouseAppropsGOP advanced the FY26 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development bill. I was glad to support it as we work to advance all 12 and responsibly fund our infrastructure and housing priorities. https://t.co/0XS5pqdejB" (July 21, 2025).
On July 22, Franklin commented on energy legislation: "The FY26 Energy & Water funding bill has officially cleared @HouseAppropsGOP!
Pleased to support this bill to strengthen energy independence, invest in ports and waterways, and rein in spending. https://t.co/mA9JYM96LB".
Scott Franklin began serving in Congress in 2021 after previously holding office in the Florida House of Representatives. He succeeded Ross Spano as the representative for Florida’s 18th district. Born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964 and currently residing in Lakeland, Franklin is a graduate of both the United States Naval Academy and Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.
