Congressman Scott Franklin, who represents Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, highlighted local achievements and milestones in a series of social media posts this week.
On August 4, Franklin shared his enthusiasm for Florida agricultural producers participating in a national event: "Excited to see Florida ag producers, Freedom Pickles and North Florida Elderberry, representing our state at the Great American Farmers Market in DC this week!
Stop by to support Florida-grown goods and American agriculture!"
Later that day, he marked an important anniversary for a branch of the armed forces: "Happy 235th birthday to the U.S. Coast Guard! Thank you to all who’ve served and continue to protect our shores with honor and vigilance. Semper Paratus!" The U.S. Coast Guard was established on August 4, 1790.
On August 5, Franklin expressed support for young athletes from his district: "Pleased to see Avon Park’s 12-under Diamond Youth Baseball team chasing another championship title. These student-athletes represent the best of Florida’s Heartland: hard work, discipline and determination. Wishing them the best of luck!"
