Congressman Scott Franklin, who represents Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on social media about legislative progress and community opportunities for his constituents.
On August 5, 2025, Franklin encouraged public participation in a national tradition by sharing an invitation from the President and First Lady: "Want to help decorate the White House for Christmas? Or perform at this year’s holiday open houses? @POTUS & @FLOTUS invite volunteers to be part of one of America’s most cherished traditions! Apply now & make this holiday season unforgettable https://t.co/5lUjVaRsFT".
Later that day, he commented on a policy development affecting Florida agriculture. On August 5, Franklin posted: "BREAKING: The FDA is moving to revise the outdated Brix threshold for orange juice. This is a commonsense fix I’ve long championed. This long-overdue change will provide real relief to Florida citrus growers facing historic challenges and help keep the industry competitive.".
The following day, August 6, Franklin provided an update on congressional activities: "Six months into the 119th Congress From cutting red tape to delivering critical resources for FL-18, we’ve been working hard and we’re just getting started. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve accomplished so far https://t.co/B3cs6s7Rf2".
Scott Franklin has represented Florida's 18th district since replacing Ross Spano in 2021 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. He was born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964 and currently resides in Lakeland. Franklin holds degrees from both the United States Naval Academy and Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.
