Congressman Scott Franklin, who represents Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of updates on his official social media account regarding agricultural protections, healthcare education initiatives, and legislative collaboration.
On August 15, 2025, Franklin highlighted federal efforts to safeguard the state’s cattle industry. He wrote: "Important news for Florida’s cattle producers! USDA just announced new steps to protect U.S. cattle from New World Screwworm. My statement https://t.co/zPlhAtbBEg".
Three days later, on August 18, 2025, Franklin announced a partnership aimed at addressing physician shortages in Polk County. He stated: "Great news for Polk County! FL Poly & Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine are teaming up to train doctors faster through an accelerated degree program. A strong step to help address our region’s physician shortage and improve access to care.

Later that same day, Franklin described recent meetings between his staff and state legislators in Hardee and DeSoto counties: "Team Franklin recently attended legislator meetings with FL Senate President Ben Albritton and State Reps. Scott Franklin has represented Florida's 18th District since 2021 after succeeding Ross Spano in Congress. Prior to his tenure in Washington, he served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964, Franklin currently resides in Lakeland. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy (1986) and Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University (1994).
