Congressman Scott Franklin, representing Florida’s 18th district, shared a series of posts on social media highlighting aviation’s role in American leadership, support for veterans, and local educational initiatives.

On August 19, 2025, Franklin marked National Aviation Day by referencing his experience as a Naval Aviator and pilot. He wrote, "As a career Naval Aviator and commercial rated pilot, I know how essential aviation is to America’s strength and global leadership. On #NationalAviationDay, we salute all who’ve helped America soar from the military to space pioneers. "

Later that day, Franklin posted about meeting with veterans and military spouses at his district office. He stated, "Always a pleasure to welcome veterans & military spouses to our district office! We discussed housing needs for those who served. I appreciate their insight as we work to ensure our heroes get the support they’ve earned. "

On August 20, 2025, Franklin highlighted community engagement in education by celebrating the opening of a new facility at Southeastern University. He said, "Team Franklin joined Dr. Ingle, Senator Colleen Burton, and the Graper family to celebrate a ribbon cutting at Southeastern University. This new facility will give College of Education students hands-on experience while educating young learners in our community."

Franklin has served in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Ross Spano and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964 and currently residing in Lakeland, he graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1986 and later earned another degree from Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.
