Congressman Scott Franklin, who represents Florida’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted his involvement in several community and legislative initiatives through a series of posts on social media.
On August 20, 2025, Franklin shared his support for rural communities, stating, "Team Franklin attended the Okeechobee Economic Summit to discuss local priorities and growth. Supporting our rural communities like Okeechobee helps ensure FL-18 continues to thrive."
The following day, on August 21, 2025, he addressed health concerns for military aviators: "As a Naval Aviator who has lost friends to cancer, I’m grateful the ACES Act was signed into law by @POTUS. It will study cancer risks among military aviators, protecting their health & ensuring they receive the care they earned. Thank you for @RepPfluger for your leadership on"
On August 22, 2025, Franklin acknowledged the efforts of a regional nonprofit organization: "Great night in Bartow with the United Way of Central Florida for their Kickoff & Trivia Night. They serve the largest area of any United Way in Florida - Polk, Hardee and Highlands. Grateful for their work strengthening our communities!"
Scott Franklin has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after replacing Ross Spano and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives. He was born in Thomaston, Georgia in 1964 and resides in Lakeland. Franklin is also a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University.
